Pakistan to plant one million trees

Islamabad: special assistant to the Prime Minister for youth Affairs, Usman Dar, said that Tiger Force volunteers will plant a million saplings across the country on August 9, ARY News reported on Wednesday.

Speaking at a press conference in Islamabad, the special assistant said that Tiger Force volunteers will be fully involved in tree planting campaigns on Tiger Force Day, which will be celebrated on the ninth of next month.


Usman Dar said that the forest Department will determine where to plant trees, and the Tiger squad volunteers will plant seedlings together with the district administration.


The Tiger Force app has been launched to empower volunteers, " he said, adding that the government has decided to renew Tiger Force registration.

He said that one million young people have been registered under tiger force, and the government has so far used the services of three hundred thousand volunteers.

These volunteers played an important role during the coronavirus crisis, Dar said, adding that Tiger Force's services were also highly appreciated internationally.

He called on chief Minister Shinzo Murad Ali Shah to use the services of the tiger force.
